Improving the Appearance of Your Arms
Does the thought of wearing sleeveless tops start to make you feel more anxious? How about the thought of wearing a bikini? A lot of women complained of different trouble spots and their arms are among them. There are different reasons why fat accumulate in the upper arms. These include unhealthy eating habits and lack of physical activity. A condition called cellulite can result when fat is trapped under the skin, creating a dimpled look.
There is no cure for cellulite. However, there are ways to reduce it. The following are some of the arm slimming exercises you can try to reduce the swelling of your arms or improve the way they look.
Arm Slimming Exercises
Dumbbell Curls
For starters, dumbbell curls are one of the recommended arm slimming exercises. These exercises help improve your biceps as long as they’re done correctly.
The dumbbell curls begin with palms facing forward and hands resting on the thighs. Slowly, curl the weight up until you can feel your biceps contract. Lower them down slowly and repeat the process.
Bench Dips
Having no equipment shouldn’t be a problem as there are bodyweight exercises that don’t need them. A good example is the bench dip. With the bench dips, all you need is a sturdy chair, couch, or bench.
Begin with a sitting position then slowly slide off the bench with your arms pressed on the bench for body support. Bend your arms as you lower yourself to the floor. Push yourself back with the help of your arms. Repeat.
Airplane Extension
Like the bench dips, the airplane extension is another example of arm slimming exercise that doesn’t need any equipment. You start with a prone position with arms extended at shoulder level. Slowly, lift your chest, arms, and legs off the floor. Hold this position for a few seconds then rest. Aim for 10 to 15 reps although you can do as much as you can.
Modified Push-Ups
The regular push-ups can be too much if you’re still starting. A good alternative to it is the modified one. With the modified version, you bend your knees as you try to extend and flex your arms. You can switch to the regular version of push-ups once you’ve built endurance, strength, and flexibility.
Arm Circles
Arm circles are great arm slimming exercises for beginners. These exercises target different muscles - your biceps, triceps, and muscles of your shoulders and back. You can use lighter weights as you do this.
Begin by standing with feet shoulder-width apart. Extend your arms to the sides at the same level as your shoulders. Do small 20 (or less) forward circles and do the same number for backward circles.
Aside from these arm slimming exercises, you can also try wearing arm compression sleeves to improve the look of your arms. Bioflect Therapy Garments has a wide range of arm sleeves for cellulite, lymphedema, lipedema, and many more.
